Radiation and NORM Training, Compliance, Licensing, and Waste Management Services
All training courses meet applicable regulatory training requirements and include a certificate of completion and comprehension. Our courses have been reviewed and/or registered and certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, and the New Mexico Environment Department.
Some of our course offerings include the Radiation Worker/Awareness Course, Radiation Surveyor Course, Radiation Transportation Course, Radiation Safety Officer Course, and refresher courses.
Project Management and Project Oversight
We offer remediation and decommissioning support for projects of all sizes. Some of our project management services include:
- Outage support involving equipment and facilities contaminated with radiation.
- Designing & implementing all elements of site characterization & remediation protocols.
- Planning, scoping, and designing characterization, remediation support, and final
- status surveys for industrial sites.
- Historical site assessments.
- Quality assurance/quality control in data acquisition and analysis.
- Developing remediation management plans, manuals, and training.
Radiation Dosimetry
We are a fully-authorized distributor of NVLAP certified dosimetry devices (OSL, Extremity, Eye, Neutron) and required compliance documents related to licensed dosimetry programs through PL Medical Company, LLC.
A-Bear Consult currently actively manages over 25,000 dosimeters per year for private and government facilities (including the NRC and ICE).
Health Physics Services
We have a comprehensive background in regulatory compliance and safety, in addition to an extensive knowledge in radiation safety, environmental health and safety, compliance and regulatory, hazardous material management and transportation, and medical and health physics testing.
Medical Physics Services
We partner with LBT Diagnostic Rad Physics. Our staff physicists are all qualified medical physicists – in all modalities, to include MRI, CT, mammography, PET, nuclear medicine, and traditional x-ray. Each physicist has multiple certifications from certifying boards that include: American Board of Radiology, American Board of Health Physics, American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine, and American Board of Medical Physics.
